Amarath – The Ravaged World
General Information:
The planet of Amarath is comprised of two continents and one major archipelago. The continents are known as Dmar and Ithamar, and the archipelago is known as The Lamath Cluster. The world has been plagued by war since the dawn of time, but recently something much greater threatened the world. An unknown event shattered the continent of Lamath which is now broken and floating around atop the sea. Around the islands that remain a magical aura surrounds, sometimes forming into what is known as the maelstrom a vortex of magical energy where all ten elements of the world can be seen in their pure form and combined at the same time. Where the vortex travels strange things happen and magical creatures are brought forth. Every year the Maelstrom’s domain expands and has just recently started to encroach onto Dmar into the province of the Amlish. The maelstrom occasionally spawns small storms which can travel across the world before dissipating, they are reported to have spawned all sorts of undead, demons, angels and mutate the creatures in the local area into hideous monsters.
Continent Information:
Dmar:
Dmar is a small continent which has on it only two human nations, the Incath and the Amlish. The continent is mostly equatorial so the north and south ends are nothing but desert and mountains, and the middle is a combination of rainforests and plains. The Incath inhabit the Eastern side of the continent, which is closest to Ithamar, and the Amlish inhabit the Western side of the continent which finishes just south of the Lamath cluster. Amidst these nations live the elves who are quiet and withdrawn living in treeborn cities.
Ithamar:
Ithamar is a large continent blocking out most passage around the world it spans so far north and south. It is inhabited by 3 major human nations, Karim, Magrid and the Nortic. It also plays host to a number of demi-human nations and tribes. Karim: Karim is a large human nation ruled by a circle of 47 mages of all races, one of which is even reported to be an ancient green dragon and one a dryad who lives in the circle tower her tree having been magically moved to atop the tower.
Magrid:
Magrid is a small human nation ruled by King Thamas a gentile elderly man who has ruled in Magrid since the nation rose from the Magrid tribe 300 years ago. His life is close to ending and he has no children he is currently seeking a new heir one who is suited to the rigors of ruling his country. On the Eastern frontier of this nation is the small town of Demas.
The Nortic:
The Nortic is not a nation as such, more a very large tribe, they still wander the frontier plains to the South West of Ithamar, they are lead by a tribal council that meets every full moon for a meet and once per year on a vote of representatives to decide the council for the next year. The tribe, although nomadic by nature, is very industrious and almost every council for the last six months has had talk of settling down on the agenda.
The Lamath Cluster:
Once lush and beautiful jungle covered continent where some of the stranger folk in the world hail from, Lamath is now nothing but a shattered string of islands. Some event took place in the North Eastern sector of the continent, which was previously the home to the Arkesh, a peaceful, highly magical community of humans. The Arkesh were responsible for bringing Warforged into the world in their never-ending attempts at ascending humanity to the stars, creating new life was thought to be the first step to understanding our own. Despite the apparent coincidence that a highly magical colony was located near the centre of a magical incident, it has been ruled out, due to mass eye-witness reports, that the maelstrom did not form anywhere near the Arkesh community. It seemed the incident occurred deep in the wild lands of the Lamath Continent. Since the incident the Arkesh community has since relocated to various places around the world as the maelstrom spread to their part of the world and began to affect the world around it.
